Who pays the subscription — the group or individual members?
The group admin pays the subscription from the group's shared funds. Individual members never see or pay a subscription fee. When split across a typical 15-member group, the Standard plan works out to about $1.33 per member per month — less than a cup of coffee.
What happens when my 60-day free trial ends?
If you haven't added a payment method, your account automatically downgrades to the Free plan (up to 10 members, no in-app payments). Your data is always safe — contributions, case events, and member history are never deleted. You can upgrade again at any time to restore full access.
Can I change my plan after signing up?
Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from your group settings. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. We never charge a change fee.
What is the in-app transaction fee and who pays it?
When a member makes an ACH contribution directly through the eChama app, a small per-payment convenience fee is charged to the member at the time of payment. The fee varies by plan: $1.00 on Free, $0.75 on Starter, $0.50 on Standard, and free on Premium. Members who pay via Zelle, wire, or other external methods are not charged this fee.
Do members need to download anything or create an account?
Each member needs a free eChama account to accept an invitation, view their contribution history, and make in-app payments. There is no separate app to download — eChama runs entirely in the browser on any device.
What happens to my group's data if we cancel?
Your data is yours. Before cancelling, you can export your full contribution history, case event records, and member roster as CSV or PDF from any paid plan. After cancellation, your account moves to read-only Free mode for 90 days so you can complete any exports before the account closes.
We manage 5+ groups. Is there a plan for that?
The Premium plan includes 3 groups. For associations, churches, or networks managing more than 3 groups, we offer Enterprise pricing with unlimited groups and volume discounts. Contact us and we'll put together a custom quote.
